A painting I made earlier today, it’s weird but I like it…New painting I just made this evening.. FOR SALE
Ghost Canyon Trail
“..They were all alone. And the pale moon shone
Through the ghost at the cow boy’s side.
His courage fled as he rode with the dead
Alone on the mesa wide.
No sign of flight, no show of fight
The buckaroo displayed,
For slugs of lead won’t hurt the dead,
Through the mist of a vapor shade…”
- From Rhymes of the Ranges and Other Poems, 1947
“The Road To Texas”
Beside the Road to Texas
My father’s mother lies,
With dust upon her bosom,
And dust upon her eyes.
O cruel road to Texas,
How many hearts you broke
Before you gave to Texas
The rugged strength of oak!
- Berta Hart Nance from The Road to Texas, 1940
I finished this painting tonight. I really like how it turned out. It is FOR SALE, email interested! Thanks
A painting I made tonight. I sort of tried to combine all the elements I’ve taught myself over the years.. It was also great to use brown again.
